"The Movie was actually better than the Book."

This phrase is rarely used in comparison to its opposite, but sometimes it is true.
I recently started the Percy Jackson series and am almost done with The Lightning Thief. I must say, the movie is head and shoulders above the book on this one. The book has plot holes and a flow problem that the movie really does a better job in portraying.
what are some other examples you have found where the movie was better than the book?

Fight club. The author even stated the movie was superior

A Song of Ice and Fire is better than Game of Thrones. The first season stuck with the books pretty close but now they're getting stuff mixed up, adding characters and cutting some big book characters out.

Finish the series. A lot of that is intentional. Not to mention the movie left out a SIGNIFICANT PLOT POINT.

I plan on it, especially since i can read each book in about a week with only reading for 30-45 min before bed each night

I think fight club will always win this topic, its the poster boy for a successfully big screen adaptation. I also think Catching Fire (the second hunger games) movie was better than the book.

If you love harry Potter books you usually can't read Tolkien.

I never actually read Jaws but I can't imagine it being better than the movie.

Jake Reacher was a far better movie than the book it was based on.

Lord of the Rings for sure.
