Have the Datty Awards lost their luster?

I think they are all in good fun but it seems this year participation has been low.
This board has a steady following of posters and it seems the same names are nominated each year. And really my biggest issue is there are too many awards.
Filling out a ballot is tough because there seem to be more catergories than posters who would fit the criteria.
I think next year the awards should be trimmed down to make it a little easier for all to participate in. Maybe even have to where posters could campaign for certain awards? Could be fun, and really that's the point of this anyway.

they always have. people think the best poster is someone that copy and pastes 300 articles to the site every year. All terribly formatted.

I agree. I just feel some of the awards (which started as jokes) could be done away with. Some are just too similar.
