AG Holder wants felons to vote primarily because of race

Well here y'all go. All this time I thought we didn't want felons voting because they are felons.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Attorney General Eric Holder on Tuesday urged states to restore voting rights to former prison inmates, an issue he said primarily affects African-Americans.
Eleven states continue to restrict voting rights after a person has served a prison sentence and is no longer on probation or parole, the attorney general said at a symposium on the criminal justice system.
“Across this country today, an estimated 5.8 million Americans — 5.8 million of our fellow citizens — are prohibited from voting because of current or previous felony convictions,” said Holder.

So.... the felon who leaves prison should be able to vote, but he still can't own a gun. That's kind of cherry picking which constitutional rights are restored and which ones are not.

Color me shocked or should I say white that he would desire such a thing to become law in the land. Expanding the voting rolls for the Demon side of the math is his goal and anyone who claims anything else is a F'ing liar of the most extreme order, so lets see which of the libs show up in the thread to defend Holders actions.

If we're starting a betting pool as to who's first to show, I'll take Decatur.

Interesting point actually. He can't own a gun presumably because he either can't be trusted to make rational decisions or he is still a danger to society (why is he out then?). YET, he can be trusted to help decide who runs the country? Hmmmm....

To be fair, Holder would rather no one own guns

And the problem is ?

There is no constitutional right to vote.

Heck.. give current felons their guns back.. too, why wait until their debt is paid? (even though, they still can't then)

Correct, but as I remember the Boortz explanation it only applied to voting for President. Not local elections.

Yep, just another solid Dem voting block. Dem motto: Give us your minorities, unemployed, unproductive, illegal aliens, homosexuals, criminals, deviants of all sorts and abortion loving women. And when they are done our nation will be completely in the shitter.

Not my point. What is the MOTIVATION for Holder to move on giving felons the right to vote:
a. Because they can't harm anyone
b. Because they vote Democrat

While you guys are right about the reason why Holder wants to give the felons the right to vote is to elect Democrats, why should people convicted of a felony be barred for life from voting?
Most felons are nonviolent, yet they carry the Scarlet F with them for a lifetime.
If we, as a society, really wanted to reform criminals, how can they be reformed while barred from practicing such civic duties as voting and bearing arms.
I'm sure you know this, but if you are convicted of a felony in America, you are totally screwed. It is not right for us to say to those who have served their time and carried out their sentence to say, "Do the right thing and pay taxes and be a good citizen" while at the same time tell them, "You are not equal anymore. You are beneath me".
This practice causes recidivism and recriminalization.
