Getting flipped the bird...

People still get their panties all wadded up over this?
Backstory: Was merging onto i12 from essen about an hour ago and couldnt merge in immediately, so i stayed in the far right lane. A guy in a black pickup comes flying around me and at the same time I had my left hand out the window and was rubbing some crap off my middle finger with my thumb - He passed by and saw it and flipped his lid, then it dawned on me that it looked like I was flipping him off. Oops. He rolled down his window and merged in front of me to go south on Airline and I give him a hand up as to say "Sorry Broseph", but he insisted on brake checking in front of me. I merged into the lane to my left on i12 and he starts swerving at my truck as if he's going to hit me. I merged into the center lane to get away from Billy Badass before he loses control of his pickup.
Is it still really that big of an insult to get flipped off? Granted this guy didnt deserve it and I wasn't intentionally flipping him off, but acting like a jackass at 65 mph because of it?

I just laugh when I get flipped off. Really pisses the other person off. Plus I think it's hilarious when people get their jimmies rustled over traffic encounters.

Same here, I thought it had devalued down to a 'yo momma' level of insult, hence why I asked. Apparently there are some folks in this world that are still ready to drop the gloves over it...
