Which recruit was most deserving of a 5th star?

It still amazes me that Eric Reid wasn't a 5 star. He was looked NFL ready as a freshmen, contributed right away left early and made the Pro Bowl his rookie season. IDK what else they could have been looking for.

Eric was still pretty raw in high school. What made him great was he was very "coachable". He is incredibly smart.

I guess i brought this up as a way of pointing out how arbitrary the start rankings are. Reid was a beast from the get go, they used to tell you the criteria they worked off off. A five star was suppost to be someone who could contribute right away and be an all american etc etc.. they don't follow it at all.

We will be saying Brandon Harris and trey Quinn before long
Honey badger if I am being honest

not even hindsight. If you just looked at the kid you knew he was elite.

What about the kids that you can " just look at" and know he would be elite but didnt do much in college?

Reid was a year behind me and I don't ever remember him being on the scouting reports when we played dutchtown. Everyone cared about Lacy I guess.

And I would say Claiborne and Hill to answer your question.

Trey Quinn. Without a doubt.
In the past? Jacob Hester, Tyrann Mathieu, Eric Reid.
You could probably go on and on.
Stars are just a way to hype up the process created by sports writers. It has worked. ESPN has made a fortune on this star system, as well as prima donnas out of some of these 18 year olds.

it's Quinn
he only broke top receiving record of all time against legit enough competition.. he has hands, speed, ball skills, route running.

Looking at the numbers for this year, its Valentine or Quinn...

Johnny Manziel. Robert Griffin III. Glenn Dorsey.

Hester is the prototypical white boy cliche. He was not 5 star caliber.
Just a heck of a hard worker and a great team player.
