I have a feeling that Paul Finebaum is going to be the face of the network. If that happens all we'll hear about is Bama 24-7.

As of right now, Directv has not signed a contract for the SEC network.

Finebaum is a self-promoter. During the AU heydey with shula vs Tubbs Finebaum was an AU homer.

He just does what sells. He is a UT grad with a sense for self promotion and money. TFWIW

Has anybody figured out the details of how exactly this is going to work? I know that Geauxzone will apparently be no more but will those games be available now on ESPN3 instead?

It won't be ESPN3, but as long as the school produces a stream it will be online. You'll have to be network subscriber to view it.

I'm going to be pissed if Charter doesn't pick it up considering we already have the stupid Longhorn network.

Cox sports will be out of it. I hope we don't lose the quality coverage we had and go all poor quality in house production.

Comcast here in TN still has not agreed to pick it up. If a Direct TV picks it up, I'm switching.

I'm talking about the normal Geauxzone streams for games that aren't televised.

In theory i'd think they will implement the capability to stream all sporting events across every SEC campus.

Seems like ESPN would have control over the campus side of things so they can broadcast how they want

Recent article from ESPN said they will make the SEC network part of a package of ESPN channels rather than trying to sell it as a separate channel like they did with the Texas network which few providers even offer. ESPN said they learned a lesson with that.

I really enjoyed their coverage.

Will anyone pick up these games this year preSEC network?

Cox is a major sponsor of LSU. There is no way they don't pick this up. In fact every cable provider will carry it I'm sure. They are probably just in the process of negotiating fees/contract. Keep in mind, August is a long ways away.

I mean hell Cox carries the longhorn network and has exactly zero customers in texas.
