A Chefs Life
This is a good new series on PBS about a couple opening a restaurant in Eastern North Carolina. Filmed like a documentary. On PBS 3 tonight. If you haven't seen it it's worth it. Really shows the ups and downs of owning and trying to run a restaurant in a small town.

Great show. But the restaurant had been around about 5 years before filming started. Her voice is soothing.

They have a pretty interesting story. I want to see what the oyster bar and hamburger joint end up like.
Her dad must have made a fortune raising tobacco to front that.

Some deep pockets behind that build out.

That episode didn't have a happy ending. Interesting to see how they progress from here.

The one tonight with the grits? It gets better. I noticed she didn't take her husbands name. Not that it matters, just an observation.

Doh ! Just realized the one I saw tonight was recorded last night. It was the one where the kitchen burns.

That was a good one though.

I just binge watched every episode in 3-4 days. So good!
I love how it made me laugh, cry but most of all smile. I would find myself smiling uncontrollably at the end of almost every show. Great family. Great people. She's so smart. Love it.

Season 2 has started. Great show. Where did you see all the episodes?

I see that. Nice. She's a great chef. I spend some time north of there at some friends farm in Rocky Mount. We are trying to detour next trip to have dinner at her restaurant. It's a nice agricultural area although like she says it's like most rural areas. Pretty poor.

I like her show, but I hate her voice and the husband seems like a dick...
I still watch it though.

Agreed. That accent sucks. Kind of half tard/half hick.
The husband seems like a bitch.
He knows his vino, but working for/with either of them must suck big foot's dick.

I think he's lightened up a lot in the second season. Can't blame him. I think he's had to do a lot of adjusting and you see how much stress they go through.

I'm really just talking about the husband. She's nice enough. Seems to have a lot of patience with everybody.
He gives off the vibe like he's so much smarter than everyone else, and the place is killin him.
He's always pissed/miserable at people's ignorance of wine. Maybe that's why you like him Wink.

The accent doesn't bother me. Just rural North Carolina. No different than Monroe redneck, New Orleans yat, Lafayette coonass. He is from Chicago so I'm sure it's an adjustment for him but what the hell they are trying to make a go of it in an area not known for dining or staffing a restaurant like that. I think they aren't any different than most restaurant owners in their demands and if you watch enough you see they do treat them well. But still employees, not best friends.
