between the Wundermap and the regional radar. This seems to always be the case anytime I go check it out.

Chandler Rome just tweeted that it's "snowing" on campus.

I'm stuck inside... any confirmation on this? I haven't seen anything on FB/twitter about it snowing besides Rome's tweet.

I can see Tiger Stadium from where I am standing, and I have seen zero precipitation in the last thirty minutes.

I'm in downtown BR right now...there has been zero precipitation at ground level or the 17th floor level since I've been here since 8:30ish.

Looks like we have a pretty good band of sleet coming in from the sw. Should be here within an hour
Posted on 2/6/14 at 10:36 am to meauxjeaux2
I'm at OLOL off Essen and it's sleet/snowing here very lightly
Posted on 2/6/14 at 10:38 am to IIxxBREADxxII
I can confirm the light sleet of jefferson.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess nobody here even knows what the frick this thread is about.
I posted a link to the "wundermap" It shows rain
I then posted a .gif of the regional radar on the same website that shows snow/frozen precip.
This thread is about that and that only, not fricking snow/sleet reports from around the area.
There's already a thread for that.

Radar algorithms for precip type are notoriously inaccurate. Looks like they use a different one (or a different vertical resolution) for the regional mosaic vs. the Wundermap.
I don't know much about how they operate at WeatherUnderground so I don't think I should go into further detail.

Lmao.
Blame it on the first two responses, everyone else just responded to what they started.

Maybe the snow/sleet reports from around the area will help you to decide which radar is accurate?
All the reports of precip seem to be of the frozen variety, therefore you can throw out the "wundermap" and rely on the regional radar (which appears to be the radar straight from the NWS

Bill Ayers has nothing to do with the forecasting site. Two different things. wunderground.com was founded by Jeff Masters.

Anyway,I'm guessing Wundergrounds Wundermap is a piece of shite.
