What's going on with the rotation at Center?

...there doesn't seem to be a lot of consistency with playing time for Ajinca/Stiemsma/Withey.

Personally, I have been impressed with Ajinca and Withey...they have both played pretty well of late. I would like to see them get most of the minutes at the position.

The team is not giving up on the season/trying to win, so I understand sticking with the veteran, but does Stiemsma even give us the best chance to win?

Will Roberts/Stiem make us more competitive than Rivers/Ajinca (or Withey)?

...Withey goes for 4 points and 4 boards with a block in 11 minutes and then gets a DNP-CD...too frail for the Spurs?

thoughts?

There's plenty of consistency. It's the same thing Monty always does when he has multiple players with similar levels of effectiveness/ineffectiveness. Rotate through a schedule where some guys get more minutes and some guys get limited minutes, and change who's 1, 2, or 3 based on matchups or a predetermined schedule, not by who's actually playing well.

I posted the net ratings of each guy with Davis in another thread.

Withey is by far the best, but also by far the least minutes. Steimsma comes in 2nd. Smiht a little behind him. Anjica is last with a bullet.

Weird because he looks better than Greg and Smiht. Low rating is likely due to TOs and fouls.

Hopefully they can dump Steimsma before the deadline. Toss in free smoothies for a year, a decade, whatever it takes.

Need to see more Withey. He will frick up and he will get pushed around, but, in general, good things have happened when he's been on the floor.

It is the same thing that was happening with Rivers/ Roberts before Jrue got hurt.

MW rotations are like he picks them out of a bowl and sticks with them. I was hoping to hear that Whitney was sick or something.

Steimer has been playing a lot better but when the bar is set that low to begin with, only one way to go.

I agree...he's had some impressive blocks and shot alterations...I forget which game, but recently, he had a short stretch that was better than anything we've seen from the other centers.

he's getting the most minutes of the three for the season and has a PER of about 9.

...hope that changes soon via trade or Monty giving the young guys more of a chance.

can't be easy for Withey to try to put something together playing 20 minutes one night, 8 the next, and then DNP

He's said in at least one interview that part of it is that the NBA has started calling one particular thing a violation that isn't called in Euro ball, nor was it called during his previous run in the NBA.
