Concepts for Mississippi's new state flag

I guess MS is finally considering changing their state flag. Here are two concepts. What do you think?

Whatever they do, I hope they dont' completely spit in everyone's face like Georgia did when we got our placemat flag around 2000. Our flag now is pretty boss, and I like the old flag too, but dear God the one we had before the current was a joke. I hope mississippi makes a better decision.

Too much IMO.
Would like to see a revised version without the magnolia and wording seal, with the side bars moved in and the starred circle in the middle.
Simple is best when it comes to flags, I think. A person should be able to sketch it accurately from memory.
