The first one looks like it was designed by a Mexican.

It will be a red white and blue flag with a black bear, manatee, squirrel or some kind of random animal on it.

1 is nice, 2 is not, 3 is awful and outdated.

This is just silly.

While I prefer the current, No. 1 looks great.

Wrong, LA is 49th, MS is 50th.

They both pay homage to CSA flags, but in a more subtle way than the commonly used Virginia battle flag. Of the two options, I like the 1st option the best, though I think they should make the blue/red bars about 50% thicker.

Well the North American Vexillogical Association disagrees with you. Are you a licensed Vexillogicist?

No, I'm not. And thank heavens for that. According to your vexillogical experts this is a "good" flag. I wouldn't wipe my butt with it.

They are way ahead of you. Third Confederate flag, the "blood stained banner":

There is more white in both of the concept flags than there is in the State of MS.

If they have to change, I'd say keep the current stars and bars format but replacing The Army of Tennessee portion with the magnolia.

Win-Win.
