trouble at school in Schriever (Lockdown)

Can anyone give me an update. A coworker said his wife (a teacher there) texted and said the school is on lockdown and everyone is hiding under the desks.

I thought he was trying to say Shreveport (I have heard people say Shreever when referring to those folks) but it turns out Schriever is a place in Terrebone Parish. I didn't know.

And my single biggest complaint on the concept of lockdown as taught for active shooters, stay in your room and hide under your desk. So the shooter can get lots of you all in a confined area for a big kill count. I told my kids to get the hell out and run. Just imagine 500 kids running every direction and screaming at the top of their lungs. How many could someone realistically hit? Don't get me started on the DHS film that advises going after the shooter with a stapler.
