I thought they were tools before the Super Bowl. Their last ten years of music has sucked.

Their headlining slot at Voodoo '06 , complete with a 20 minute jam with The Meters, was fricking awesome.

That sounds pretty awesome, but their studio stuff has been a bunch of crap IMO and its been a shameless rehashing of their old style, only super radio friendly and with mindless, innocuous lyrics.

I looked some up about this after you pointed it out in the halftime show thread. I saw it suggested that they didn't have a choice about it. The NFL probably forced them to do their pantomime because time is to valuable during halftime, and a mistake in going over time could cost millions. Maybe they were being so dramatic (in particular the guitarist) to attract attention to the fact that they weren't actually playing their instruments.

I was joking. Is there really bluetooth for guitars and bass now?

There have been wireless rigs for guitars and bass for at least 30 years. They weren't using them though.

Buddy of mine played during halftime at a falcons game and they said there isn't enough time to set everything up and soundcheck for a halftime break. Understandable. Flea loves music, even takes theory classes to this day. I'm sure he'd have wanted to play had they allowed it.

Oh okay, wasn't sure of the context. The link kinda sounded like RHCP didn't plug in because they can't play. Made a reference to vocalists getting bashed if they lip sync. Difference is one vocalist can be mixed in within less than a second of singing.
