Working with Trey this week up in Dallas. He has been a great kid so far. By his actions the last few days, I think he ends up at LSU. He really wanted to come to Baton Rouge this weekend, but couldn't afford the flight. He's been wearing LSU gear most days and have heard him singing STTDB in the locker room and out at practice.

I asked how to pronounce the name a few weeks ago. Someone told me not to punish my tongue until he committed. Looks like I should start practicing. How do you pronounce that last name?

Polynesian names are pronounced with no silent vowels or consonants, i.e. all letters are pronounced. Kind of like Spanish with "e" being pronounced as a long "a", "i" being pronounced as a long "e", "a" being a soft "a". So:
Lay -ah- lah- ee - mah- tah -Fay-oh.
As long as you pronounce it out, it becomes easy

On the hawthorne front, I would just like to thank les for recognizing a problem and finding a creative solution. Thesr samoan names are going to force hawthorne into what can be called a late retirement. To the delight of baseball and basketball fans especially.
