This is a live recording from KEXP Seattle. Complete with an interview conducted by the stereotypical public radio DJ. There is a nice little shout out to New Orleans during the interview.
LINK

Warning the set and interview last a little more than 20 minutes.

I feel I'm late to the party, but I have quickly become a fan. I also just discovered The Deslondes. Another really good band out of New Orleans.

saw them live last year, really like their style. Sam Doores has some good solo stuff on youtube as well.

Sam Doores is the real deal. Kind of thought he should have stayed Sam Doores and the Tumbleweeds, or teamed up with Alynda from Riff Raff.

Btw, the other main guy in Deslondes is a Missourian.

Yes i know and Alynda is from Brooklyn, I think. It's pretty cool when she said she lives in the greatest city in the world when she was talking about NOLA.

Could be, was there? They went by Sam Doores + Riley Downing and the Tumbleweeds for awhile, I thought they changed because that was too much.

there was more detail on their old Facebook page which is gone now, this is all I can find from a quick Google.

quote:

In August 2013, the band discovered that it would have to change its name. The Tumbleweeds was taken and taken again, and that’s how The Deslondes were born—named after the street in the Holy Cross where the band first wrote, practiced, and recorded; and where Sam Doores currently lives.

When I first heard the name I thought they named themselves after this guy.

Massive attack - you are good to go. No plus ones though on the VIP list but I will hold two for you so you get in 2 for 1 - cool?

Also really glad to add the deslondes to the Jimbo Mathus bill 3/7
