Well folks, I have finally read the first two books and I bought the Storm of Swords book today. My question is, can I read the entire third book without it interfering with season 4 of the tv show? I don't want to get ahead of the show.

Nah, season 4 will cover most of the second half of ASOS. You'd be safe until you read the RW, then you;d need to stop.

Read it through. You will enjoy the shows even more. I read 0 books until after the first season and had all of them read by the end of season 2. I actually need to do a re-read for SOS (and all of them for that matter).

No; it would be hard to tell you which chapter to stop at because season 3 did some things out of order compared to the book.

If you're concerned about getting ahead read ASoS after S4 ends since the remainder of ASoS will be fully covered this season. You will probably have to wait until after S5 to read AFFC & ADWD.

Hope this helps .

This.

If you're intent on watching it on the show before reading it though then just wait. I wouldn't start part way through only to stop once you hit the RW.

No. The safest stopping point would be after the RW but it'll be hard to stop. The second half of that book is the high point of the entire series.

I'd read it first to be honest. I have a feeling spoilers are going to be everywhere.

Same boat here, luv. I haven't cracked a page in two years because I didn't want to get ahead.

Why? Reading the books has made the show that much more enjoyable.

No. A lot of stuff happens after the red wedding. Best to stop right after Robb dies.

If you don't want to get spoiled for the show, I'd stop reading right at the Red Wedding. It's only like 3 or 4 chapters after that that stuff from Season 4 will come into play.

Did Hugo update his list yet?? I imagine there's going to be a ton of people added to his list this year. I finished the last 2 books since last season ended, for instance.
