I tried doing a little research but could not find anything on it. Does Nola have a shot at breaking it?

Peever might have gotten that record in 1992 if he didn't have to miss a few starts after getting drilled in the head by a batted ball.

Edit: Maybe not...turns out he only missed 2 starts after getting hit.

Peever's season was ridiculous. Ashame he didn't get to pitch in Omaha.

Right now, Nola has 19 wins. Doubt he will catch Mestepey and Schultz, but he could get in the top 5 this year.

It will be tough for anyone to catch Mestepey and Schultz...a lot of the greats just don't stay 4 years anymore... (or in Mestepey's case, 7 years )

If only he could have been healthy for more than 2 of those 7 years

Several fans from other schools that I talked to labeled Mestepy as "that guy who seems like he is at one college forever"...

False. A dogpile destroyed his future.

Skip coached his freshman year when he threw triple what he ever did in high school.

He pitched more in one season under Bertman than any single season under Smoke. Also, I doubt he had much of a pro career. Great college pitcher, but just didn't have the "stuff" on his pitches to get pro hitters out. See Eddy Furniss as a pro hitter.

Skip was notoriously bad about pitch counts.

Not even. That made him get pushed back one start. Then he came out pitching great in 05.

Skip rode him way too hard in 2001 and Smoke did the same in 2002. That's when he blew out his arm and never got back to that level.

Just let me blame the dogpile, OK?

Fine.

I just hate how over-rated that dogpile injury was. So now people freak out about it every dogpile.
