True.

But we can fix it if we just throw more money at public schools, right?

Some might call them smart. They have figured out a way to vote themselves gifts and get other's to pay for them.

True

A second problem is the belief that the lazy and stupid people are on the other side.

Please. With every generation we get better. Despite what old people have to say about the matter.

So, you're disputing the fact that people with high IQs have fewer children than people with low IQs?

The root of all problems: a Significant Amount of Americans are Stupid and Lazy
true or false

It would not say this is the root cause of the current state of the union though it is certainly one of the symptoms. I would suggest that there are multiple root causes:

1. To a large extent, our nation is a victim of it's own success. This is not unlike the comments by A.J. McCarron cited on the SECrant basically saying that success led to a feeling of entitlement and complacency.

2. The liberal progressive movement in our nation, while arguably accomplishing some positive things in terms of social equality, has also contributed to entitlement mentality and lack of work ethic. Previous generations in the U.S. had to work very hard just to have enough food on the table while today even the lowest tier of society are pretty darn comfortable without having to work. In short, too many of our people have lost the incentive/drive to succeed/achieve.

False.

Americans work harder and longer hours than most other people on the planet. Technology and outsourcing are likely the underlying causes of what now appears to be laziness, as well as unofficial polygamy and irresponsible fertility rates within America's third world primitive cities.

Having fewer kids and more regulations on industrial outsourcing = improvements. Of course, it's not Westerners of first world stock responsible for the regression taking place, it's more likely political correctness which prevents us from addressing these societal problems to the third world masses among us that's most devastating.

so it is entirely possible we're the smartest kid on the short bus.

People can look and point to Europe all they want. I've lived there, it sucks.

Nope. Are you disputing that the average IQ increases year over year which requires us to slide the scale over to keep the median at 100?

Not really. I mean, the whites in the American south, especially the deep south, are basically of a third world culture that is held and fed by the rest of the Western world.

Being originally from the region it pains me to admit that, but it is an obvious observation.

Nope. But we are getting dumber by birth rate statistics. The reason we progress is because the smart minority drives innovation and the stupid majority goes along with it because they benefit.
