Finished Dexter Just Now..... (Spoilers of Course)

I know there have been plenty of threads like this. But....just....iunno man....
Random Thoughts:
- Hey Hannah cut your hair short and dye it red idiot. People are looking for you.
- Who leaves a serial killer strapped to a table alone even for a second?
- The ending struck me as one that gets discussed....but you don't pick.
- The show went on too long obviously. At least reward the viewers with a Dexter, Hannah, Harrison happy ending. Even if you kill Deb.
Overall I enjoyed the show because I can appreciate the journey.

I would have been not thrilled, but OK with the ending if they had stopped at the hurricane and not gone all Paul Bunyan.

The only acceptable ending to that show IMO would have been one Dexter Morgan does not survive. I said that after the first episode. I cannot believe he lived

Right! I would have been mad at that ending but I recognize the ultimate sacrifice angle is a valid option.

Showtime will be doing a spinoff...starring Dexter himself. That is why the fricked up ending was fricked up.

I even envisioned an ending where everyone finds out what he is.....and maybe he dies. But the ending is footage of people debating whether or not he was actually doing good by killing murderers or something.

Apparently, showtime's producers wouldn't let the writers kill Dexter.
They wanted him to continue on like Batman once the show was over.
The writers took those orders and made a truly terrible ending.

actually, it doesn't surprise me that hannah wouldn't change her appearance....i don't have time to explain why (getting ready to go to work), but she just seems wired that way.
yeah, the finale left a bad taste in my mouth. i'd rather dexter just went to argentina with hannah & dexter, BUT leaving as a "person of interest" instead of a "fallen hero".... comparatively speaking, everyone kinda-sorta wins in that scenario. as it was, everyone (dexter, hannah, miami metro) came out looking like a bunch of dolts...

The bad taste it left me was...they had 2 years, and this is the best they could come up with.

I can, just because we've seen Dexter go his entire adult life hiding who he really is from the world. Hell we saw 8 seasons worth of him serial killing, while working for law enforcement mind you, yet was never caught due to his smarts, cunning, whatever else.
So I'm not surprised he is alive. However, it is almost impossible to put into words how insuling the ending was. Dex goes to Argentina with his killer gf? Fine. He lays low in miami for a while? Fine. But to have him dressed like the Brawny paper towel guy cutting down logs in alaska and looking at the camera like he did is just inexcusable. I mean, it might have, MAAAAYYYYBBEEEEEEEEEE been a little more tolerable if we saw like 5 minutes of his new life, and he ends up killing someone already that he found out was a rapist or something. Good ol dex, back to his old ways! But no, we get a few seconds of hard working everyman Dexter the logger, just taking a break from his 9-5 to laugh his arse off at his loyal viewers.
It still pisses me off.

I tried to think back to a scene where he may have said something about just leaving to be a logger. Maybe some sort of tie in......NOPE.

They tried to be so edgy and it was such a failure.
Sometimes it's okay to go with the cliche happy ending rather than leave a bad taste in the mouths of your fans.

I don't know about that. I think they knew he did it on purpose....but that it was nothing more than revenge for Deb.
Quinn says he wishes he could have done it himself.
