Budsgunshop's Online Layaway: Does anyone have experience with this?

I remember LSULEFTY said he has used it numerous times. If you are present, please tell me about your experiences. Has anyone else used the service?
I know they require 20% down, and you have 90 days to pay the balance. And I know you have to pay an additional 3% each time you pay with a credit card, which is why most people use bank drafts.
I've read that some people were disappointed that they would pay the balance and then the item would be out of stock. I also read reviews in which it took days for your account to be updated once your payment was made.
Other than that, I know very little about it, but I'm intrigued. For those of you that have used it, were you satisfied with the overall process? Thanks in advance, gentlemen.

I'm interested too. They have/had a good deal on an Xbolt that I've been watching

I did it for my PD shotgun
Paid 25% down then 3 installments for the balance.
As soon as I made my final payment I got an email maybe 6 hours later saying it shipped to my ffl
Very easy, very reliable. Will do
Again once I find out if I can still legally purchase a firearm or not
Paid 25% down then 3 installments for the balance.

That's great to hear. I'm going to try it for a nice gun I've always wanted.

What happened, bro? (if you don't mind me asking)

Bought my first pistol on Bud's layaway plan. Put 20% down and they shipped it out a few days after it was all paid off. No complaints here

I've done business with them, first class all the way

Yeah I've use it four times. The only thing with the bank draft is it takes about 5 days to clear, other than that is very convenient.

I have a pretty awesome update for my thread.
I was looking online and the gun I wanted wasn't in stock. So, I called and asked if you can put a Reserve item on layaway. Well, you can. And, if your item does not come in within those 90 days (let's say it comes in on day 100), then your 90 days to pay doesn't start until the item comes in. So, it's possible you can have more than 90 days to pay off the item. Pretty cool.

I want a Kimber Ultra Raptor II (preferably the stainless one). Bud's doesn't have it. A pawn shop on the coast has two, and they have layaway. I may go down there and put $300 down and deal with them.

I have used the layaway plan 3 times and it has worked perfectly. Fast shipping and low prices on guns. They even accepted my request to exchange a GP100 that they shipped me that had a rough finish for being a brand new gun. They sent me a new one a few days later that was in perfect condition. That same gun is sitting in my night stand.

I've not done their layaway, but I work about 5 minutes away from their store and range and go there quite often. Very knowledgable staff, great range, and enjoy doing business with them.

I can't wait to get it.

What's the store like?

First Kimber?
I'm going to finish the "break in period" on mine sunday and expect it to be flawless. It shot dead nuts at point of aim out to 25 yards, only issue I had was catching brass to the forehead every now and then. A kimber sure is pretty though

For me, yes! I'm excited.

That's so awesome. I really hope I can get down there this weekend to put the money down for them to hold it. They only have two left in stock that aren't on display. I really want the stainless, but I'll take the black if it's the only one left.

I'm excited to welcome you to the kimber family, but must admit a little dissapointed that your membership to the CZ club is on hiatus
Posted on 1/31/14 at 9:34 am to Riseupfromtherubble
My wife said I can have both. I'm buying the CZ straight up and putting the Kimber on layaway.
