Updated today, accounting for the UK victory. LSU is 3rd team left out. Mizzou is in the last 8 to make it.

LINK

Arkansas right behind LSU in the next 4 out, makes the game this Saturday all the more imporant. Does LSU finishing 9-3 in last 12 games of regular season (including the UK game) get them ahead of Mizzou and a tourney bid? Will they have to win more than one SEC Tourney game even with a 12-6 conference record?

A lot of work to do still.

13-5 with one win at Florida or Kentucky.

Definitely. Many variables ahead, but it's good that we're still firmly in the discussion.

well we have 11 left not 12.

That said, i think we need to finish no worse than 8-3 and if one of those wins could come at Rupp or O'Connell we'd be a shoe in IMO.

Just have to see how it plays out.

Guess I should have made sure to say the game we just played, since we will play them again. Each team's bracketology breakdown shows, among other stats, the record of your last 12 games. So before entering the SEC tourney, LSU's last 12 games would include the Ice Dome win from Tuesday night.

I hope both lsu and la tech which both are 3 and 4 in the last four out make the dance.

neither of those will happen. UF is ranked #3 and talented. AND they get their star recruit in 6"11 Freshman PF back.

If it were in the PMAC, maybe. In Gainsville, no chance

That's what it will take, IMO. RI and Bama hurt.

Word Ive been hearing from people who have followed bracketology for a long time is 11-12 SEC wins should put us in a decent position. Less than that and we are toast.

double post.

I think we have a shot with 11 sec wins but I think it will likely take a 12-6 record. Maybe 11-7 with a good SEC tournament.

Losing to crappy teams is what will doom this team. They need to make sure to handle business these next few weeks against subpar opponents.

We've got 1 quality win and two bad losses. Not a recipe for a match madness ticket, and continuing to win games we are supposed to win (auburn, a&m, MSU, Arky, etc) ain't going to do much to bolster that. Need another win against UK or UF. Luckily, they expanded the tourney. We'll need each and every available spot.

Kind of how I'm feeling about it too. One good win and two bad losses. What if LSU wins at UF or UK, but drops a game "they shouldn't lose" and still finishes 12-6? Is that better than losing to the obvious picks of @Arky @UK and @UF?

Both of those would mean they're out anyway so I don't think it matters.

I don't think we have to win @UK or @UF if we win @Ark. Bama is bad but the committee looks a little more favorable on road losses as you know.

Definitely. The URI loss is the one that will really stick out come March. Losing on the road in the SEC is just a fact of life, no matter how good your squad is.
