Just came in from Hammond on 190, almost all of 190 is frozen all the way to BR. Most surface streets in BR are frozen. The road conditions are worse than yesterday and it seems like more people are out this morning.

Over the Mississippi River or over the Amite. Over the Amite is fine, they salted and kept it dry through the night. Just watch as soon as you get off of it, they have large patches of ice.

This should escalate quickly within an hour or so.'

I almost busted my arse in the driveway this morning. The whole thing, and the street in front of the house, is solid ice. I'm not going anywhere.

Perkins between College and Essen had quite a few large patches of ice this morning.

E. Lakeshore, Dalrymple, and State St. are blocks of ice. Nicholson is pretty bad as well.

Yep, and the drivers who can't seem to negotiate driving under good conditions will be out in this shite show. Unbelievable.

Just drove all the way to work on Choctaw and nobody was there....
190 is not too bad but Sherwood between 190 and Choctaw is real slick. A lot more traffic coming In to BR on my way back home than I thought there would be... I know that almost ALL of Central is shutdown. Joor,Sullivan are both closed..

Posted on 1/29/14 at 7:53 am to burgeman

I am still confused about what you do? I thought by your name you may be out dealing with traffic like me.
Posted on 1/29/14 at 7:55 am to burgeman
In about 10 minutes outside I heard about 5-6 different cars trying to floor it and then subsequently spin out at a traffic light. Some people are too dumb
Posted on 1/29/14 at 7:55 am to burgeman
I'm debating going to the office or not.
