Question for you. I am playing the irons I have posted the image of below.

How much more forgivable are the Cleveland CG7s? I am a young professional or a broke arse. So money is an issue.

I dont know about CG7 but cleveland TA7s are legit. what I use to play with. Look into getting either an Adams set or some TaylorMade Burners. Burners are not expensive easy to hit and go a long way

I am looking to spend under 500. But I have to lengthen them an inch. And I am very partial to the Lamkin Crossline Cord. So I need with labor and grips I need the irons around 350.

Pretty cheap for some good irons. My dad has the burner 2.0 irons and he likes them a lot. I have hit them a couple times really easy to hit and go a long way

Oh yeah. You can play some x hot pros. Or some 712 ap2s. You may have to go used. But there are some good sites out there to get you what you need to grow into but not overwhelm you.

I really like the look of the X Hot Pros. I have been looking at Wilsons as well. Like the C11s.

You think they go a long way because the loft on each is decreased.

Anything made after the year 2000 would be better than those irons.

If he's looking to grow into a set he can handle the ap2s. And don't go Wilson unless your going blade fg62 and with a 14 your not going there.

I play AP2s but I totally disagree with this. He needs a game improvement iron. AP1s would be much better. Its not like they are horrible irons for a low handicap either

Is ebay the best bet for used AP1s?

And I have a few friends that play the AP2s. I am not interested in hitting the shanks they have once a 9.

No I totally agree that they aren't bad irons at all. I've just owned both and didn't see much difference as far as turf interaction and consistency in flight. Now the ap2s are much more workable which is what they were designed for obviously. But as far as forgiveness I didn't notice a ton of difference. But I do play Cally x protos and 712 MBs. So my view on consistency may be off based on I'm now a 2 cap. I'm just talking as far as visually and feel. I think he can handle an ap2 IF he practices and gets a feel for a smaller profile iron that isn't a Blade
