Who is leading the race for NBA rookie of the year?

I assume its Michael Carter-Williams than a huge drop off after him. Victor Oladipo and Tim Hardaway Jr. have shown flashes throughout the season.

Has MCW kept up his level of play from the beginning of the year? I haven't really kept up with him.

not close, but he's still the leader
i think trey burke isn't THAT far behind in recent play, but MCW still has the edge

Trey Burke would be a contender with a full body of work.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is probably in the conversation.
But yea, MCW probably has it locked down.

the greek freak will ultimately be the best player from this class.

without a doubt in my mind right now
but he'd have to go HAM in the 2nd half to make an impact in ROY voting....especially considering where he plays

Maybe. He needs a little consistency.

Yes

No one. The class sucks too much.

Not that far to Trey Burke

It's clearly MCW, which shows this is the worst class since 2000, when Mike Miller won.
Looking back at that group, you could make an argument that Hedo Turkoglu was the best player in that class. Yikes.
This year, MCW leads in points and assists by a wide margin. He should be the unanimous winner.

Michael Carter-Williams will probably drop below 40% shooting before the end of the season.

MCW 17/7 40%
Burke 13/6 38%
Oladipo is the only other rookie averaging double digits. I think MCW 2.4 steals per game gives him a pretty big advantage.
What a terrible draft class. The first pick is averaging 2.4 while shooting 26%. The 3rd pick is averaging 1.8 while shooting 29%. The 4th pick is a center shooting 37%. The 5th pick is averaging 2.2 a game. The 6th pick hasn't played.

I bet Dumars is really happy he took KCP instead of who all the Pistons fans wanted.

The only other candidates with similar point totals are just as bad as MCW.
You've got Mason Plumlee at 63%, Radujilca at 57% (but neither is shooting outside the paint), Hollis Thompson is doing well at 48%, and then the Greek freak at 45%. Hardaway Jr, Faverini, and Ryan Kelly are basically the only three other players who are getting regular minutes who are shooting at anything close to league averages.

I have no problems with KCP, at all.

Not saying he shouldn't win it. Just pointing it out. This draft class was definitely a shite salad.
