Dude would start for any team in the country, consensus All American, Top 10 pick. Has had 2 bad games in a row.

He's extremely talented. But he's an undersized 2 without
much legit PG skills. I think a lot of people look at him as maybe having Kemba Walker at UConn potential - a guy who isn't really that efficient but can get you crunch time baskets and carry his team if he gets hot.

I've always hated his game and I see him primarily as a defender in the NBA.

Fwiw, I hate the games of 80 percent of the guys that ESPN talking heads slobber over.

well he's a really good defender and athlete. everyone can pretty much agree on that.

but like you said he's not efficient. at all. he's 30% from 3, but that's not stopping him from shooting them all the time. it's not like he's good at taking care of the ball. he does have a pretty mean streak when he's hot, but that's not very often. im wayyyyy more scared of markel brown when kansas plays them. i just dont get it.

I like in a sort of 6th man role, where is able to come off the bench at the 1 or the 2 and provide a spark. I don't like him as guy leading my team though.

This dunk off between him and Julius Randle is pretty ridiculous.

that's a good thing to evolve this thread into if no one is gonna try and defend smart like people did earlier in the year.

who else gets their dick rode by espn but isn't that good?

marcus smart
aaron craft
mitch mcgary pre injury
marshall henderson?
willie cauley stein?

i dont really know about espn on those last couple, but they manage to get some love from some people.

I like the guy, i think he will be a good serviceable role player that can add value to any team that he joins. I just dont see him as being the star to come in and turn a franchise around like most teams are looking for in a lottery pick.

Senior white guy who trys hard = media darling

It is all off of his play in the tournament last year. He didn't warrant any of that praise during the season beforehand and didn't how he was playing this year.

You don't really hear about him unless he does something to piss people off. How many nationally televised games have they been in?

When he is good, he is really good and when he is bad, he is very bad. He will have a game like he did against UGA with 6 blocks and 6 steals or he will have a game like he did against Kentucky where he only had a couple rebounds and no points. There really isn't in between for him.
