American Hustle vs. Wolf of Wall Street

I saw American Hustle a few weeks ago and saw Wolf of Wall Street over the weekend. I gotta say I thought Wolf of Wall Street was the better movie.

I was very disappointed in American Hustle. Thought it was pretty average compared to Silver Linings Playbook.

Wolf of Wall Street was a lot of fun and had the beautiful Margot Robbie, but I gotta say I thought American Hustle was a much better movie.
Loved them both, but AH was better.

American Hustle is light Oscar fluff. No matter how you feel about the subject matter of WoWS, there's simply no denying which is the better film.

AH felt like an amateurish attempt at remaking Boogie Nights + Casino. It's Oscar baiting fluff, like someone else said.

Maybe I was expecting more out of Wolf because so many on here were saying it destroyed AH, but it wasn't as good as I'd hoped.
It was fun and I liked it, but it wasn't hysterical by any stretch. I though AH was a far more interesting story with better performances.

I know most people liked WOWS more but I definitely didn't. I thought it was entertaining but kind of cheap humor. I think people say it's a better film than it is because it's Scorsese. Not saying you have to like AH more, I'm just stating why I didn't really like the WOWS very much.
