Who else thinks we have a shot if we play consistently?
I think JOB will do his part against Randle, but everyone has to contribute.

You're asking an awful lot from LSU.
Kentucky is rolling at the moment. Think they win by 12-17

I am calling my shot now...I believe that due to the weather concerns, this game will be played Wednesday night at 7.

Consistency is the key and we haven't shown we can bring our best very consistently, but I think Kentucky brings out the best in everyone.
And Hickey, who seems to have lost his way of late usually shows up against his homies. We really need him to play as he's capable. Because he hasn't much this year.
I'm concerned about Randall. Johnny doesn't like to double the post much. More than Trent, who just flat out wouldn't, but he rarely has in his short time here.
If he doesn't, Randall will eat us alive and get all our bigs in foul trouble.
But, can we win....yes. Will we? I can only hope.
Maybe we drop Mike from the roof?

The best shot we have is to hope the weather man is right and BR gets 5 inches of snow Tuesday night and the game is cancelled

You may be right. But this Kentucky team is not as formidable as some of Calipari's other teams and this is the best LSU team he's faced.
And, we gave them a good run last year over there.
But I've also learned the hard way about getting optimistic about LSU hoops. It's like beaing a Cub fan...which I unfortunately am.

KY is not as good on the road as at home, so there's a chance, though a slim one. The Harrison twins are getting better, and that's a bad sign for LSU. Cauly-Stein also broke out of his slump against Georgia, so he could be dangerous. KY may be finally settling in as a team and not a group of freshman, but they haven't been tested on the road, so it may still be possible to rattle them. Most teams have tried zoning them and forcing them to shoot from outside, which has worked well at times, but watch out for KYs mid-range game from the twins and Lee. If LSU can force some bad shots and play their best offensively, they have a shot.

As usual you and I agree on a lot. I had a previous post about how our players have not been consistent. This team is very up and down. To a certain extent this is the nature of basketball. Non basketball fans who never really played the game don't get this.
Sometimes your shot just isn't there. Other times you can't miss. Just the way it is. Coaches know this. It is why they constantly preach going inside to get the high percentage shot. It is why they moan about turnovers because those usually give the other team an easy shot. That's why rebounds are important. Bad night shooting, try, try, try again until you get the damn ball through the hoop.
Even Pete Maravich and Chris Jackson, who were the closest thing to perfection that I have ever seen on a basketball court, had off nights.
So can we beat Kentucky? Sure, without a doubt. If we are hot and they are not. If we keep turnovers to a minimum while getting some steals. If we win the battle of the boards and hit our free throws.
Basketball is about execution. There aren't a lot of great plays a coach can draw up. It is mostly doing the basics and doing them well. It is the little things that add up to a win in a close game.
We have the players who can get it done. The only question is whether they will. Geaux Tigers!

I will not be surprised if LSU beats UK. This is not a great UK team away from Rupp. I certainly don't see UK blowing us out.
But it'll have to wait since we aren't likely playing tomorrow.

Since i live in lexington I know this UK team is not very good. The twins are big but they wont play like bama does. They hate driving and are very slow. Hickey will beat them off the dribble. I think we stack up very well against them. Coleman will give young fits. Randle and JOB will be good and Cauley-Stein is not an offensive threat. Twins can only hit wide open shots. If you take away lanes they cant win. I would play a 2-3 and let them shoot besides Young. Poythress off the bench is good but Martin is alot better. Key to this game is down low. Randle and Stein rebound better than anyone. Win the rebound battle and take away the lanes LSU by 10+. Get out rebounded and let them create UK by 10+. This game has the feeling of Mizzou last year.

No. If LSU doesn't double the post, Randle will absolutely destroy LSU.

I'm sorry I don't have a preview for this game yet... Problem is I just moved and I don't have Internet yet. Won't have it till tomorrow... Still gonna try and do a little something.

Lots of delusion in that post. Not a matchup in this game that I give LSU the edge on with the way UK has hit their stride recently.
