Have a friend passing through on their way to TX and wanted to take to lunch. She wants to eat some "Louisiana food" so I'm trying to pick the best place to go for lunch... not super fancy or expensive and near the south BR/prairieville area. Suggestions?

That was actually brought up by a coworker but I was thinking it may be too far away for work lunch but I might just go with it. Think it's probably the best option.

With that definition, I would just take her to Chimes.

Parrains is good as others mentioned but it isn't in the area you said you were looking.

Tommy's Fish House in Prairieville is pretty good.

Not a bad idea. It's lunch not a marriage proposal. Good oysters.
