i ordered the xlr 250 green from elusive wildlife and they shipped me red one instead. how big of a difference do you think this will really be when shooting at hogs after dark?
my farthest shot would be 175-200 yds.

i edited the title for accuracy

I would send it back and get the green. I'm pretty sure the green shines farther.

i'm all about that. however, being new to night time hog eradication, i'm wondering if there really is that big of a difference regarding contrast, spooking the hogs and/or occasional coon/coyote, etc.

I like the green better, but bc I use an eotech. As far as them noticing I'm sure you're gtg. Damn fine light I might add. A LOT of predator hunters swear by red. Yotes especially. You're good either way imo.

I don't know about green, but I have seen what a red light will do.

My brother sat in his stand one night with a spot light and a video camera. When the deer would come out and eat corn and he would shine the white light on them, they would run off. When they came out and he put the red filter on the spot light, they would sit there and eat like no light was on them while he videoed them.

I have a red due to being told hogs dont see shades of red very well. Not sure how true this is but I've had good luck with pigs at dusk/night

I actually prefer red. I attached a red elusive light to my bow and it doesn't scare them at all...

any problems with enough contrast so that you can make a decent shot? i'm using it for rifle hunting, not bow (not yet anyway), therefore longer distances shooting.

I haven't had any problems at all... I have about a 20-25 yard shot but the light provides enough contrast each time. I'm not sure how much contrast you would have at 175-200 yards though. I hunt deep woods with minimal moon light also. It lights up the feeder perfectly at that range.

Is it just me or does that look just like a Cree with a different sticker?
