At least one team would start Sanchez in 2014 if he’s cut

If one anonymous coach, in comments to the New York Post, is telling the truth then Sanchez will be a pretty big story this offseason.

The Post quoted a coach saying if Sanchez is cut by the Jets (and that seems to be the most probable outcome), he could be his team's starter as soon as he signed.

“We’d take Sanchez,” the coach said, according to the Post. “He’d be the starter as soon as he walked in the door for us.”

teams like Jacksonville, Cleveland, Minnesota or Oakland might view Sanchez as a viable option, at least as a veteran bridge to their quarterback of the future that they'd draft in May.

Man, it's really hard to say Veteran and Sanchez in the same sentence

Veteran bridge is an odd term too....sounds too much like an actual bridge

Gotta admit, I like the NFL more when Sanchez is starting for someone.

fify

Dude is a lousy quarterback. I probably would give him a little respect if he didn't think so highly of himself.

Well, they don't really have a coach yet that can make these type comments do they?

Well, excuse me, more accurately stated: At the time the comments were made, they didn't have a coach to make them, did they?

In Sanchez' defense. The jets gave him absolutely nothing to work with.

Your boy Tebow is a worse QB who thinks even higher of himself...

I pulled for Tebow, but I wouldn't call him my boy.

When did he ever come out of training camp and proclaim, "Well I definitely won the qb competition."

Sanchez was never going to be a playmaking, franchise QB. But the Jets were their own worst enemy by trying to force him to do more as the rest of the team got away with doing less.

Well, did win the comp.

If Sanchez doesn't get picked up by an NFL team, I bet you he won't be too arrogant to go to Canada...

It's interesting to think how good they could have been a few years ago if they used the Sanchez picks on some playmakers and added a veteran QB. I know they were thinking long term but that defense and running game was championship level for a year or two.

He played poorly this preseason. If he "won" the competition, it was by sucking less than Geno Smith.
