Proof that probowl appearances shouldn't be used to determine a players greatness.

Do you think you know enough about playing the G position to determine if he deserved it this year?

PFF has rated Evan Mathis the best Guard in football for years now, and he just now made a Pro Bowl, sooooo

I know the saints offensive line was far from stellar. And neither graded out well

OLine overall wasn't very good this season.

Pro Bowls are an overrated measurement for how good a player is. It's all about name recognition, so basically a professional popularity contest. Neither were as good as they normally have been, but the Pro Bowl isn't always about how good players are anyway.

I hate when people think a Guard shouldn't make the Pro Bowl because we didn't have a great year running or protecting Drew Brees.

He only had 5 holding calls all year long.

That along with not grading out near the top of the league guards.

What do you think should be criteria?

Grubbs was among league leaders in least sacks allowed with 2. That's pretty damn awesome when he played all year next to DLP and most of it next to Charlie Brown. He was practically blocking 3 guys!!
