Going to Yankee Stadium in April when the Cubs go to NY for two games.

What are some places around the stadium to grab a beer at or eat at?

Anyone been to the NYY Steak inside the stadium? Looks pretty decent...

Riding the subway there is one of the best experiences of the trip. Don't cheat yourself.

Nothing. The Bronx is a dump.

That's your choice. No problem. I'm going on a weeklong vacation with my wife and I don't care about spending some money on food if it is good.

Then go to Peter Luger's if you want a good steak.

We are.

However, the nights I am in Yankee Stadium I have to eat something. I would much rather eat a nice steak than a hot dog if it is a good steak.

I've only had ice cream from some place outside the stadium. I've always eaten elsewhere and arrived at the game about an hour or so early. Always took the subway except once I took a cab and it was horrible with traffic

Good advice. I'll make sure we look in to the subway then.

I have NYY hat I paid $35 last time just to say I bought it at the stadium. Some things are a premium. Deal with it.

Exactly. A hot dog, fries and a drink for 2 in Yankee Stadium probably costs around 30 bucks as it is. Me and my wife can split a huge steak and a side for 70-75 bucks. I would rather spend double and come away with a good steak than a hot dog and a coke and some fries.

Is that inside or outside the stadium?

Depending on game time and home/away dates go take a stadium tour. I did it in Old and New Yankee stadium and it is well worth the 15-25 bucks

I have not been to a game in a season or two, but the stadium is nice (does not have the charm of the old one, but what can you do). There are some fun dive bars right across the street, but I would not venture more than a block or so away from the stadium (and really, there is no need to). The stadium club bars, etc. at the stadium are nice, but I've never had the steak there (I always enjoy getting the hot dogs).

Like others have mentioned, I would just subway it.
