on some WMAs there is property that is part of the WMA that is only connected at a corner to another part of the WMA (caddycorner). is it safe to assume that you can cross at these corners without trespassing?

In oil and gas law adjacent properties only joined by a corner are considered contiguous.

I don't know how that goes for access as they only touch less than a centimeter wide, and you are well , probably wider than a centimeter.

You have to jump from one parcel to the other. If you don't, you will be trespassing.

No problem at all (as long as you don't get caught).

As stated before, properties that meet at a corner are NOT contiguous. (At least, that is what I believe that TClayboy meant to write) There would need to be some sort of "right of passage" agreement to traverse between the two tracts.

Plus, we are assuming that you could even correctly identify where the exact location of the corner is out in the woods.

i just don't think the game warden would enforce it as such. otherwise why would these properties be included on the WMA?

Lac Ophelia has two corners like that with a Dr. McCann road running between them. I was always too chicken to cross that road.

that spot is waaaay wider than a road. more like 75' or so, plus, it takes so long to get to the other side, almost no point in going there.

It's two corners that meet. It takes way longer to get there the other way, plus you're spooking the heck out of errything on that side.

Yes. I'm glad you caught that. The properties touch, but only theoretically. There is no unit of measure to explain the distance or width of a corner.

There is not a hard yes or no answer, but the fact is nothing could pass through there as it is less than paper thin wide.

The properties are real and hold real value. They can be included in the same WMA and not touch at all (miles apart). It is just that of the example you are talking about you would have to exit one side via road, drive around, and access the other parcel from another road or servitude of passage even though they arguably touch one another.

There is no other means of access though, other than by going through private land.
