She could have struck out at her last at bat with Kitt pitching if she wanted her sister to be the hero.

Obviously. I always wished they would've made it a little more ambiguous but they definitely left no room for debate.

This has never made sense. In any case, what if she decided while rounding bases? Maybe she knew she was going to win..and it just didn't matter to her anymore.

sorry but i can't see her coming all the way back there. going all out all game long, giving every advice on how to beat her sister.. only to screw her teammates over like that.

but i know the overwhelming popular opinion on here is she dropped it on purpose..

look at the look on her face before it all unfolds and how she steps up. her sister mauled her with everything she had.. then the look she has after as she is smiling and happy for her sister as if her sister earned it. not like she gave it to her. idk.

But didn't she see Kitt having a meltdown afterward? Definitely could have changed her mind.

Absolutely this.

I saw it this morning and almost started this thread. She didn't drop it on purpose. She tried to get Ellen Sue to strike her out, and she wouldn't have done that to her teammates anyway.

But when Kit is rounding third, the look on Dottie's face is very telling. She steps up and is like "holy shite, she's coming.." And Kit lays into her with all she has and finally bested her sister, which is why Dottie has the smile she had after the game...she finally saw her sister realize her potential and best her at baseball. She was proud.

It's a fun debate, but nobody ever changes her mind really.

I'm sure the long threads on teh subject have touched on the conversation at the start of the film between Dottie and her grandchildren - if you believe in foreshadowing that's one of the more damning pieces of evidence

I can't believe so many people GAF.

Movie is so full of shite. The whole premise is beyond outlandish.

Bitches playing baseball? shite makes The Purge sound like a documentary.
