Meche's King Cakes

had two delivered to me yesterday, 1 bavarian cream, 1 strawberry filling.
good god those are the best king cakes anywhere, IMO.
of course i'm deprived of anything that good here in houston.

Wife picked up a half strawberry half chocolate this morning. It weighs about 5 lb

Overrated IMO...but oddly enough I had one delivered to me in Houston yesterday. I'll enjoy it.

Get ready to get flamed. They aren't a 'cake' but they sell the hell out of them. YES, it's a big donut, get over it haters. I'm not a big donut fan but I don't get the hate. I've tasted all the great king cakes b/t Laffy and N.O. over the years. I could easily eat a piece of each and never call the other bad. Different, but not bad. Rickey Meche is making a killing !

Isn't the Heavenly Donut (on Highlight near CCLa) king cake the same as Meche's king cake? Actually, wasn't the Heavenly Donut place a Meche's donut shop before they switched names?

Damn right it is. Meche's doughnut king cake is the tits. I'm not a huge cake or king cake guy so having the doughnut king cake from Meche's is a great alternative. Strawberry cream cheese is my favorite.
