"All features are in perfect working order" was the ebay seller's description

for an iphone 5. However, when I charged it up it would only hold a charge for about 3-3.5 hours.
Took it to the apple store and the diagnostic says the battery is shot. $80 to replace it.
How would you handle the situation? I was not expecting a brand new battery in the phone but I also feel that this phone was not "All features are in perfect working order"
Thanks for the serious replies

I would contact seller, if that doesn't work. I would contact Ebay

I am dissappointed
You can afford to buy a new iPhone from the store. Why ebay?

I did. His/Her response was "The phone is used which is why I listed it in that condition. It won't have the same battery life as a brand new one. Thanks"
i don't want a refund or to return it but I feel as if the seller was not completely honest. Should I leave neutral feedback?

Give the seller seven calendar days to make it right

I like the 5... but the main reason is I don't want to lose my unlimited data with verizon.
iphone 5 for $450 or iphone 5s for $850... Give me the 5 everytime

That's crazy expensive. I've never had any need for a smartphone, but that really convinces me it's not worth the money.

They were sneaky but smart. Yes leave negative feedback. There should be nothing holding ou back from doing so. The feedback is your opinion and in your opinion you got duped.

I'm not inclined to leave negative feedback but rather neutral. The phone looks and is basically brand new now that I've replaced the battery.
I don't even know what to ask the seller to compensate. I don't think they should have to pay for the entire battery but I still believe they should split that cost with me (yes I'm aware that is never going to happen).

If you got 3.5 hours of actual talk time out of a charge, it would have been nice for the seller to have mentioned that in his description if it's low for a phone that age. OTOH, if the phone went dead after 3.5 hours of standby, then it was broken, and the seller was dishonest. You probably could have raised an issue with ebay either way; my understanding it that they're dicks to sellers.

Used phone = been in the crapper with someone else

I would've asked about battery life before buying it, but otherwise , with the description given, I would leave negative (not neutral) feedback. He misrepresented his product to attain your currency.

Are you inclined to be a bitch? Perfect working order does NOT mean the battery is bad! You had to buy a new battery to get it into the condition he described He should give you back the cost of the battery. And ABSOLUTELY leave a negative comment. By his response saying you should have known the battery was weak because it is use, that right there shows you it's something he could have put in the description because he knew and did not tell you.
Dude, he's some idiot and screwed you out of cash, and you really sit at your home and debate on if it was negative, but you take time to as here? Grow a set!

I sell a lot on eBay and the correct answer here is neutral feedback. Seller is selling a used product but should have disclosed the fact that the battery life isn't up to snuff.
On another note I received neutral feedback on a North Face jacket I sold. Buyer said despite the fact the LABEL said XL, it fit more like medium, and this somehow was my fault. Don't be that guy.

If you don't leave negative feedback, the seller will keep doing that shite to someone else. Tell him you have to buy a battery to make it in the condition he described it as, and if he doesn't at least split the cost of the battery then negative feedback and let eBay know.

ask them to either send you a battery or send $80 to cover cost of repair, whichever is cheaper for them. otherwise it falls into the not as described category and as buyer-friendly as ebay is you should win any kind of case that may be opened.

Sounds about right for an iPhone battery.

I don't think he was trying to dupe anyone. He hasn't sold much stuff on eBay and if he has let the phone sit around at all it could have happened then.
I am going to sleep on it and decide tomorrow. Thanks for all the advice
