76ers Want to Package Hawes/Turner together

-just thought I'd toss this out there…I know everyone dislikes the whole "trade proposal" threads but its just a thought it was interesting
-my thoughts are a 2nd rounder and EG for Evans/Hawes
-Contracts match, both those guys are 25 and in the last year of there contracts so we have an option there to either resign at the end of the year or dump salary
-Plus those guys hold down the fort until Jrue and Reke come back and we only give the 76ers a pick between 12-14…either way it gives us options
-would you be down for this? or does the tank sounds more fun?

They're trading them so they don't have to pay them big contracts down the line because they're in tank/rebuild mode
Why would they trade them just to take on a big contract?
Makes no sense

whats your angle? you would be for this trade right?

The Sixers would be willing to help us tank just enough to land the #6 pick, that's what our pitch to them should revolve around

It's just not going to happen

^ That. The trade makes no sense for the Sixers.

We do not have any 2nd rounders until 2017 (I think we own someone else's in 2015). If you really want to make the trade appealing, we'd have to offer someone of real value. So how about.. Anderson/Smith/Rivers for Hawes/Turner (LINK )?
Anderson is hurt, so they get to keep tanking with a good player coming back next season. Rivers is a young prospect, that might work well next to Carter-Williams..
Pelicans get a SF and C to fill needs and make a nice run in the playoffs. Although we'll end up looking alot like last year's Sixers team..

they're in the last year of their deals, so why wouldn't philly just let their contracts expire?

It's more like they're trying to trade them to get something of value for them for the rebuild.

i agree. i'm just saying if they do trade either, they will be taking on salary...unless they find another team dumping expiring deals who has draft picks to deal (lakers?)

Throw in Noel and it's a deal
Posted on 1/17/14 at 9:47 am to DeionDeion
i dont think we could get hawes for eg.

Anderson? Are you kidding? heck no.

Its the only way it'd make sense. They aren't giving up young talent for Gordon or Evans. Anderson is probably out for the rest of the year anyway, so if this team wants to make a run he might be good bait to get somebody to bite. Losing Rivers and Smith fixes a lot of the rotation issues as well..
Holiday/Evans/Roberts
Gordon/Evans/Morrow
Turner/Miller
Davis/Aminu
Hawes/Anjica
Team is way more balanced this way and maybe they make a late run..

Hawes is a pretty decent player, and I haven't watch him a lot, but he doesn't seem like he is a good compliment to Davis.
