Rotation - Can Les phase the team back to elite level?

2011: Offense = C Defense = A+
2012: Offense = B- Defense = B+
2013: Offense = A Defense = B
2014 and 2015 will be interesting.
When can we expect CLM to phase us to a comprehensive roster across-the-board?
In 2014, the QB situation is a huge wildcard. Potential, yes, but anything but a certainty. The OLine should be in great shape, and LF and Magee/Hilliard will rock it in the ground game. WR's look promising, but an assertion is the best one can offer from the receiving corp. The DL is anything but a certainty, and the LB crew better somehow improve vastly. The DB's are looking to be exceptional. The schedule is very favorable, but 2014 is otherwise hardly a team with enough pieces in place to contend (aside from the easy schedule, that is)
Then comes 2015...the year many think will be "the year" (even though we are beyond the BCS era, it is the "4-year pattern" year)...BUT, will the Oline be depleted or too inexperienced? No team with a re-building or inexperienced/young Oline is going to compete for an SEC or NC. Otherwise, the overall LSU team could have all the pieces in place. Could the Oline be phased with recruits and JUCO players to be adequate?
To win it all, you have to phase your program recruiting to be solid across the board.
What year can we reasonable project being back to that comprehensive level to put it all together.
Is 2016 the most reasonable time to expect to phase things to true contending for all the marbles?

2013 defense gets a B?

Nope. The Program is elite, but the team is not.

based on how the finished statistically. You gotta realize that each teams fan base hyper focuses on the issues with their defense, and forgets (in a relative sense) that all teams have some issues. I give them a B, even with the poor LB play and the occasional disapointment.

team is elite. coaching is not

2011 avg like 40 pts a game, although defense played a part in that, just saying.

Lol that team destroyed people on the ground.

2011 Offense was better than 2012.
2013 Defense doesn't deserve a B.

Sorry our defense was incredible, and our offense took advantage of that?

I'm saying idk how that offense was a C when we averaged 40 pts a game?

Did the offense average 40 a game? Bc out defense scored a LOT. Serious question as I don't know if the O scored 40/game. They got more help than any I remember.

It must've been a year of great offense, poor defense, or a combination in college football. Bc 2013 defense was not a solid group, despite that ranking.

Who is? Certainly not a crimson team that is on a 2 game losing streak. Not an auburn team that went win less the year before and got manhandled by lsu.

the defense played good towards the end of the year (2013)and I would give them a b with the loss of players the year before....
hell two of the losses was by 6 points combined , and I hate to play the what if game but had we returned all the early departures from the year before it could of been us in Pasadena.....
in the end finishing in the outback sure doesn't make it a great season but it could have been a lot worse.....
as far as 2014 goes if the defense continues to improve and can get back to an elite level I think we could end up in that final 4.....
the offense should be able to run the ball and if they do not turn it over lsu will be a hard team to beat....
