Thats where 80% of all games come down to. It doesnt matter who's up by 15 in the 2nd quarter, etc. NBA games usually come down to the last few possessions with each time calling timeouts and running set plays, key subsitutions, exploiting matchups.

Any stiff can coach the first half of an NBA game. When you have a team that consistently loses close games, your coach sucks horse cock.

If that's true, Monty's family must be on food stamps and living in a one bedroom apartment in hollygrove.

Pels are in the middle of the pack with a .450 winning percentage in games that are within 5 points with under 5 minutes to play.

i think the

is a tad bit of an over exaggeration

Winning or losing close games over a meaningful sample size basically amounts to luck. Rick Adelman is highly regarded around the league and the Wolves have an awful record in close games this year.

If this is a result of last night's game, he got Miller (a good 3P shooter) an open look from 3 to tie it. It would be nice to have gotten Gordon a look but they were putting Parsons on him and trapping him as soon as he touched the ball for the entire 4th. Idea is to use him as a decoy and someone else has to hit a shot. They got the shot they wanted, and it didn't go down.

Is there a way to see what their win percentage is in games having a double digit lead in the 2nd half?

Maybe so but last night was ridiculous. 11-1 run to end the game by the rockets and EG barely touched the ball.

the most the NBA site allows is 5 points, for whatever reason.

I swear, if someone in the arena sneezes, this board will blame it on Monty.

Second to last possession he gave the ball to at the top of the key and said go to work. EG was collapsed on (shocker), kicked it to Roberts, who drove and kicked to Smith, who missed a shot with no one in his zip code. A shot they'd take 100% of the time, I'd imagine.

that was a VERY good play. smith hits that shot when left open more than 50% of the time. he rushed it a bit because he was probably surprised to be so open, and that caused it to go a bit long.

I feel like 100% of your 80% statistic is 100% made up.

Well I'll tell you why he rushed it. Because Monty didn't shoot the ref who swallowed his whistle to end the game against the Spurs Monday, that's why!

It is. Just a guess.

Sounds like you guys think the pelicans coach is solid.

PS - I bet my guess is close (maybe a little high).

I can think of at least 3 home games that we blew a huge double digit lead:

Pacers home opener
Spurs on Monday
Rockets last night

There are definitely more
