11:00 this morning. This should be interesting. Apparently direct flyovers to I-10 will be built to accommodate Baton Rouge passengers. I just can't believe they are going to build a new rental car center after just finishing a state of the art one a year ago.

Wait, there is large demand for flights from BR to NO?

Have you seen the clusterfrick that is traffic on I-10 and I-110 in BR?

Of course there's demand. That one hour drive shouldn't take 3 hours 60% of the time.

With 0 traffic there is absolutely no way you make that drive in 1 hour.

I guess I'm just looking at the clusterfrick that is air travel. Seems overkill, but I guess that's just me.

pparently direct flyovers to I-10 will be built to accommodate Baton Rouge passengers.
I think they mean flyover ramps from the interstate to the airport on I-10 coming from the west, just like coming from NOLA.

With no traffic I can make it from Brightside & Nicholson to Loyola Dr. in Kenna-Brah in 49 minutes (taking Nicholson all the way to Tanger in Gonzales and catching 10 there).

Get Silver Airways out of FL to fly a Saab 340 turbo prop back and forth. Throw in a flight in Lafayette and Shreveport. I could see that working. or I could see Delta or American parking a regional jet at BTR at night flying BTR > MSY > hub destination.

Flyover ramps connecting the airport to I-10. I don't know what's confusing about this.

they settled on the north expansion for 826 million dollars, which entails building an entire new airport to the north of the current one, demolishing the current concourses and using the current main terminal for cargo, light flight use.. it'll start construction this year, finishing before may 5, 2018.

you can see the flyover in this map
