I'm going to Latile's Landing at Houmas House this coming Saturday night, and was wondering what some of the FDB brethren suggestions might be. I tried performing a search but I didn't have any luck. I'd appreciate any insight. Thanks!

I went last month. Talked to Langois and Kelly for a while. Both were really nice to Mrs. Net and I.

I had a buffalo strip, and she had an eggplant and shrimp dish. Shrimp cocktail app, 3 martinis, and can't remember dessert.

The room is great, very romantic. I'd love to go with a huge group and have dinner at the big table in the middle.

Tasting menu if everybody at the table will do it

Otherwise I like the Abita shrimp, crab beet salad, stuffed lobster, or lamb chop, if never been get the crawfish curry soup

Always listen closely to specials

Yup. That's the plan. I had a good friend get married there last year and all the grooms drank at the Turtle Bar before the ceremony. I talked to the bar tender for awhile and come to find out he's Matt Barkley's older brother. We had absinthe and a few other drinks and was a fantastic experience.

Yeah, this is where you'll meet Kevin and get to hear some more about the place.

Tasting menu is the only route to go. Wine pairing is awesome too, but be warned that you will be fricked up when you leave.

FYI, it will cost you $300 for 2 for tasting and wine (don't have to have the wine) and you will need a driver to get you home...

Picking from the menu is much cheaper...

I got married at the houmas house a few years ago. My wife and I eat there a few times a year. I also attended a few other weddings at the houmas house. I've pretty much have had everything they serve. All I order now is the duck. Not always on the menu but they will usually serve it to you if requested.
