I'm looking to get a case for my shotgun but I am curious which type of case the OB think is the best. I am debating on a regular inexpesive softcase, a floating soft case, or a hard case? The difference is like $10, $40, or $85. I have only been dove hunting with my beauty so I haven't needed one but I am starting to get into some duck hunting and I figured a case to protect it from the elements during the trip out may be worth the investment. What say you OB?

What everyone said. Floating case. Check Mack's out. I bought three at Christmas and had names Embroidered on them. Turned out so good I ordered myself one after Christmas.

Let me save you some trouble. Either buy a camo coated auto or beater pump to take duck hunting. Duck hunting will push all equipment to the breaking point. I really killed the value on one of my wood stock semi's taking it in S La marsh.

This, but don't leave it in there 24/7 especially if you hunt the marsh or it rains while you hunt. Trust me, rust sucks.

Floating soft. I have a final approach with a slot for choke tubes and choke tube wrenches. I also slide my mojo wings inside.

Yeah I bought a Beretta A300 Outlander in Max4 this past year so I feel good about the guns ability to handle the workload and elements, but I was just wanting to know which case would work best, as I want to keep it in tip top shape. I was leaning toward the floating case, but you guys solidified my choice. Thanks for the help!

You should be able to pick one up form Macks or Rogers pretty cheap in the next 2-4 weeks during they're offseason clearance sales.

Palo,

Thanks for the heads up. I'll probably do that. I'm a bargain shopper so I'll keep an eye out for that. Thanks again all for the input.

Anybody hear any bad things about the Primos floating case? It has rubber cup at the barrel end which I like a lot. Found one for $37 online with free shipping.

I have the drake floating case as well, but don't really like it. It has held up well enough over 4 years, but I need something with maybe a fold over open end for longer guns. I've got a extended choke on my 28" Benelli and I can't Velcro the end to close it securely, and would rather not take my choke out of my gun every single time. Also, the pocket is too small for anything worth a shite.
