I need to go run my boat and I'm looking for the closest launch. Is there anything closer than Blind River? I found this from a search, but I'm now sure the location.

Laurel Ridge is in St Amant... depends on how big your boat is though

Big John's

Probably better for him, since it launches into the Amite

The one I posted isnt much more than a drainage ditch

Big John's might and might not be farther, depending on where in Gonzales he is located...

The launch you referenced is probably behind the fisherman's wharf bar it ends up at the same area as laurel ridge without the low bridges. They both take you to the pumping stain and into the petit Amite from there.

I launched behind Fishermans Wharf Saturday to go run my boat. The parish took it over I believe and redid the road. Nice spot to put in just to run a boat. I ran to pumping station and only seen a few hunters!

Let us know what area you're located, and we can better pinpoint a launch closest to you

Im not sure if the one you linked is public

Fishermans. Wharf is on 22. Head to sorrento from that launch and it's at the bridge. You can actually see it in your pic.

I was thinking FREE. Canal bank, Hilltop or Fred's would be best choices for running as Laurel Ridge and Fisherman's Wharf are small winding ditches most of the way to the pumping station. I think Fred's may be free even but check first.
