I keep hearing that one reason FSU couldn't keep Pruitt is because of the shape of their AD. I have no idea whether this is true or not, but I have heard this before. Does anyone have any info on the matter?

? But they do have a small alumni base, and Jimbo has to work more than most coaches to raise money for the program. People forget FSU is a "young" football program, with ~400 wins.

Pruitt learned from the best in Saban - take the money in run or fleece the one your with.

I was told they could have matched the offer but it would have ate most of the promotion money Jimbo had to offer to the other assistants.

FSU has $$$ but not Texas $$$.

Looking at it objectively, the dude has been a DC for 1 year, I think you can make a case either way on whether or not he deserves the $850k already.

I think it's a good hire for UGA... and don't think FSU takes that much of a hit tbh.

They're saving up for the settlement they will have to pay out in the Rapeis Winston civil case.

i agree with this... pruitt has had superior talent everywhere he's coach (even going back to high school at hoover). Curious to see what he does at UGA where the talent level is at best equal with the offenses he will face.

Yea, the beef jerky in Tallahassee is that the money could be matched, but Pruitt may have been told something else by UGA, like that Richt is a a short-timer and Pruitt would be on the fast track to takeover the program.

Still find it funny that Pruitt was the DC at Hoover during the Two-a-days years.

Jeremy Pruitt as HCIW? That'd be shocking.
