Mike Scarborough was on the radio yesterday, and he said Washington was a done deal for the Offensive Line coaching position, but big daddy Alleva wouldn't agree to the salary.

His reasoning? Dead weight money

Didn't we just have a ticket prices hike? Aren't we adding more suites and more tickets sold with a new upper deck?

Alleva can find the money.

Heard that as well.

Stud is still owed, I believe, for 2014. I have no idea if Kragthorpe is considered dead weight.

The difference in two programs: Alabama has a shite load of admins for the football program, and Alleva is forgetting which program is the cash cow. He's probably getting ready to hire a woman's underwater basketweaving coach at $500k per yer.

Are you really posting hearsay from another forum about what a guy who owns a another forum said on the radio?

I don't believe this rumor unless we end up hiring a relative unknown for around $100k per year. It wouldn't take a boatload of money to get Washington.

If we hire someone like Grimes, then this rumor is definitely bullshite because he would probably cost aroun $300k, which should be the same range as Washington.

Multiple people heard the same thing, from different people.

I posted the Mike Scarborough line because it was on the radio.

He knows where it is. It went to the academic side because our state government will not fund our academics. therefore, athletics is squeezed to give the academics 8 MILLION dollars. You think stud or washington is an issue with an addition 16 MILLION dollars the last two seasons?

Alleva may not be great, however, bobby jindal and his posse is more responsible and he skates on getting the blame.

If this is true, and I'm not saying it is....Alleva would be bringing the same mentality that gave us Curley Hallman. We are in the most competitive division of the most competitive conference in college football and our AD would be nickle and dime-ing our attempts to just keep up.

I really cant see this being true.

I believe Washington would only be here short term.

I'd rather some longevity with a good OL coach.

This would be acceptable on the Coaching Changes board?

I could see it being true because alleva is a clown. I would think the taf would open up the wallet for a good coach.
