Is there such a thing as GM approved mechanic shops that can do warranty work, or do you have to go to a dealership? Thanks.

If its a factory warr you must go to dealer. if its aftermarket warr you can take where you want.

good luck gm actually fixes the problem. ive seen many cases where they do just enough to get the car working where you dont notice the issue, just to have the same problem occur again later (after warranty is expired of course)
