My buddy has been hunting him all year, but got a call this morning some other guy shot it, but no blood. My buddy has a blood dog so they brought it out there and it immediately picked up the trail and kicked the deer up. My buddy's dad shot the deer with buckshot when it jumped up and it finished it. The guy hit it very low when he was aiming for the front shoulder, I assume, and took out the top of the front legs. The deer was almost 18" wide he said.

That is just around the corner from me. Bitter sweet, having to help find and kill the deer you have been hunting all year.

Ya'll seeing any woodcock?

First who drew blood gets the deer is what we always say. He wouldn't have gotten right on top of the deer if the guy didn't wound him first. So no question it was the other guy's deer.

I used to hunt French Settlement. Never knew anybody there to kill one that nice.

Good looking rack.

If the club is a hunting club and not a deer club and you need a non deer hunting member hit me up. Wouldn't mind somewhere near the house to be able to get the bird dogs out and exercise them...

for going about that the right way. I've seen fist fights over some idiot trying to claim a deer because he finished him off. When all he did was walk up and slit its throat when it was down but couldn't go anymore

Depends on the situation but it's always a he said/ he said situation. In the case of FTF's situation today, that was his deer.

Hard to tell from that pic but high 120's/low 130's maybe. Probably gonna have a good bit of deductions.

I figured high 130s with that mass, 11 scoreable points, and it being 18" wide, it also has tall brow tines and decent height, but like you said with deductions you may be closer to being right. I am no expert by any means.

Old dude taking a piss has the biggest scope I've ever seen. Is he shooting deer on the moon?
