Brees will retire as the greatest New Orleans Saints player of all time regardless of whether he wins another ring or not.

Completely agree with that assessment.

Comparing Manning and Brees as quarterbacks, I’d take Manning. But as far as the significance of these signings are concerned, right now, Brees has the edge.

Also agree there.

Has the edge? Brees was infinitely more impactful in Nola than Manning is in Denver IMO

It's a rarity for any writer to find Brees better than Manning in any category. I found it unusual.

This guy played in and won more playoff games for Denver than Manning.

Regardless, signing Brees is the rare example of a free-agent move completely changing the fortunes and future of a franchise.

This is so true. It's mind-blowing.

Brees is the greatest Saint ever. By a massive, MASSIVE margin. We have SO much to thank him for. True, heartfelt thanks. Saints football is a huge part of my life (and I'm sure a huge part of all of the regulars here) and the years since 2006 have been such an epic ride.. we really have Brees (and Payton) to thank for that. They are the best thing that ever happened to this franchise.

As far as the article goes.. the Manning signing is not even close to as significant as the Brees signing because Peyton was already in the GOAT conversation before he signed with Denver. He could have pretty much gone anywhere he wanted in the league. No one in the league except for CSP believed in Drew ( Saban), and he has played himself into the HOF and definitely in the top guys ever conversation.
