Look. I'm not happy at all about these past two performances, but we quickly forget the incredible job CJJ did this past season and that a lot of people labeled Martin a project. Let's not forget we have two 5'9" guards who have to play the majority of the game; one who thinks he's an offensive threat and another one who used to but has suddenly become obsolete. I don't know what Jones has to do, but he's got to light a fire under their asses and get them to play harder. But my point is that we need to temper our expectations and not forget the total shite show Trent Johnson left us in. ...... Eta I just hate the fact that Arkansas has smarter basketball fans than us. You didn't see any of them jumping off cliffs due to some bad early losses in Anderson's tenure. Anderson has more resources than Jones and more tradition to recruit with and it's still taken him a few seasons to put it all together. And what do you know, Arkansas is playing really good basketball right now in YEAR 3. Pelphrey also left Arkansas in way better shape than Trent Johnson left LSU.

I agree, but the problem is the lack of effort the last 2 games. I can take losing a game because we weren't hot and i can take losses because we don't have all the pieces cjj wants yet but the effort should always be there.

Meh. CJJ has the right mix of talent and experienced players, the rebuilding is over.

Yeah giving him one season after not having a full roster, a tuba player at center, and an incomplete non conference schedule is totally sufficient time to rebuild the national power that is LSU basketball. Makes perfect sense.

They show very little sign of being coached in the fundamentals of the game that would allow them to compete with other teams that match their level of talent.

regardless of talent level, effort should be expected. We didn't see much hustle at all today.

I never said anything about being pleased with tonight's performance. In fact I said in the beginning of the thread the lack of effort is unacceptable. These past two games have sucked, but I've watched Brady and Johnson roll in their own shite enough to give Johnny more time than some of you are (not singling you out, just saying in general).

It's just frustrating to see players look like they don't want to be there. Don't like an empty home game? Then SHOW UP ANYWAY AND WIN GAMES LIKE THESE.

Good post tb2010. What jumped out is just how bad Hickey and Stringer played.
I thought we would struggle on the perimeter this year. But, i thought JOB and the M&_M would make up for it.

If u shoot as terrible from outside as we did and get killed rebounding, ur not winning many.

Lets hope we can get this turned around quick.

Well Martin played two years of basketball, and two years in a private school at that. Seems pretty circumstantial to me

But there are several. Especially in the case of Martin who had only played 2 seasons of high school basketball and only one summer of AAU ball.
