Is it just me or does LSU now appear to have a distinct edge over most other college teams. There appear two legit paths open to LSU making the new four team playoff, if indeed Hill and Collins return. One path clearly open for Miles is go the Aub route with LSU having two first round NFL caliber runningbacks and an option quarterback at its disposal, LSU could prove to be an even more dominant running team than Aub was.

LSU's other legit path is for Cameron to excell as he did with Mett, in teaching and improving the passing skills of Harris, Jennings or another LSU QB. What LSU's Cam Cameron was able to do in one year with Mett was amazing but admit-tingly was no fluke. So its very logical to assume with LSU having so many quality QB's in the fold, that Cameron can elevate another LSU QB into becoming another passing phenom at LSU.

While LSU's path isn't clear right now, their predicament of having two realistic paths to reaching the playoffs make LSU's chances for success all the more likely. The defense while inadequate at times showed remarkable improvement towards the end. What's left to ensure LSU's success would be signing a few more high caliber athletes on defense.

As excited as we are for the young talent at QB, that's the same reason it'll probably be in our best interest to use those two RB's. I think (and hope) our play calling will be 65 rushing/35 passing.

Ideally, I would like to see LSU win either way, but I'm guessing the passing offense is going to struggle next year.

It won't bother me much because I like dominating via the run. I don't care how the points get scored. I don't need elements of basketball in my football in order to be happy with an offense.

Just win and move forward. That should be the focus.

For once we actually have a schedule that gives us a legit chance to be in the top 4 IMO

Bama and Ole Miss at home, Wisconsin at a LSU friendly neutral site, TAMU w/o Johnny, and Kentucky

Auburn on the road is the only game I see us not being favored but its in early October so we have time to make up ground if we lose

I thought the two paths were:

1. Win SEC.

2. Lose to Alabama and win the rest of our games. Slide into the 4th seed after the conference championships are played.

Playoffs really diminish the regular season, which is what makes college football so great. Remember how much we LSU fans bitched about 2011. Now it can happen every year. Great.

I think our best chance of coming close to the final four is to:
1. Beat Wisconsin
If we do, we may be 5-0 or even 6-0 going into our toughest stretch; as the next several games after Wisconsin are all winnable, and will give our young talented players a chance to gain experience before the tougher stretch of the season. Beating Wisky will help our SOS also.
2. Win at least 3 of our 4 SEC road games of Auburn, Florida, A&M and Arky.
3. Of course beat the filthy Detergent Head MulliGumpNeck Skoal Juice Chin things.

Yeah I figure we are just going to run the shite out of the ball and limit the chances of the qb turning it over.

Question will be is the defense good enough. And really i think the secondary will be fine, but not sure ab the front 7.

Seeing as if Auburn is the only team in college football that has that kind of offense, I highly doubt Les will just say "Hey, it worked for them so lets switch our entire offensive philosophy for this one season"... Most likely you will see the heavy run attack but unlike Auburn ours will be toss dive left, toss dive right, with no option/misdirection/creativity

The playoffs are designed to help the Big Powers & generate TV revenue. You think anyone gives a shite about parity or Boise State?

Alabama, Michigan, tOSU, etc. can lose the only difficult games they play all season and still get a shot at the natty. ESPN execs are rock hard just thinking about it.

I think Kwon and Debo as a tandem at the OLB spots will be very very good. Welter needs to either drastically improve or someone needs to take his spot (neither of which I see happening). DEs won't be worse, but man they need to work on some passrushing. DTs make me scared. I think our season rely's on whether the new DTs will suck or if they will have breakout years

Having Cameron's ability to groom another LSU passing phenom means LSU won't be stuck as in the past being one dimensional if the need arises to pass more than run in the playoffs. That is the glaring advantage Cameron gives Miles over other teams.

No one doubts Mile's coaching ability with the run, if he has the talent or Cameron's coaching ability with passing game. That's what makes this coming year so interesting.

Dear God...do you people pay no attention to these guys whatsoever? Jennings IS NOT a running/option QB. He is a pocket passer who happens to be able to run a little bit.

Completely agree with this. Team's need to play to their respective strengths. If Hill stays/Fournette signs, LSU could have Joe Montana in his prime playing QB, and I'd still want to see them run the ball 6 times out of 10.

Does anyone have it easier than Florida State for the next 3 years. Ohio State is the second easiest program to make it to Final 4 these next 3 years.
If Shaw and Stoops leave u can add Texas and USC to the easiest path to Final 4 in 2-3 years.

Or, Cam Cameron will run his system, which will look similar to this past year, with a few tweaks to better suit our QB skillset. Expect more motion and RB routes out of the backfield. Expect the TE's to get more involved. We will be balanced in play selection, but will certainly crutch on our run game to wear out the opponent and create opportunities in the middle and downfield.

Jennings is a good passer, don't forget that just because he had a shaky bowl game. He is also a very hard worker, and I would not expect him to get passed up by next fall. We will just not allow a QB to mess anything up if we can handle it on the ground.

I recall Mett not having his breakthrough until Bama in 2012. It will take some solid play from the QB to earn Miles' trust, but I don't think Jennings is that far off. A whole offseason working with Coach Cam will do wonders for the kid. And if B. Harris and Rettig create competition, Jennings will have to produce.

We might struggle a bit passing but I'm confident Cam will spend ample time with our young talent.
